Upgrading Debian gave me the same kind of hell. I just kept fighting with
it and eventually got it to work. I really don't remember the exact steps
but I don't think it's just you or just SuSE. It seemed to have some sort
of weirdness in the upgrade. Or maybe the problems are different but
similar. :)

of the badly glorked service.
