I used a 300 baud modem for a couple years before I got my 1200 baud
modem. 1K/second was UNBELIEVABLY fast at that time.
Of course, this was in the CP/M era when WordStar executables were about
24K in size and the OS loaded in less than 5 seconds. Then bloatware
crept in.
