The system knows about your card because it's listed here. The file itself is
0 bytes because it's not a real file; it is generated dynamically when you cat
it and provides information about your system. It shows that a driver named
usb-storage is needed to use your card, and it's listed below:

Do you have gtkam installed? It would be under The Menu > Graphics > Digital
Camera Tool. See if it recognizes your card.
