I'm trying to get a handle on the options and their costs and benefits.
Apparently, the Itanium2 64-bit CPU will not run SAS under Linux, so we
aren't going to be able to use it. We must have a Linux on a 32-bit CPU
so that we can run SAS.

I'm looking at a few things on the web. It seems that Athlons and Xeons
are both nice, fast chips. Will Linux perform differently on the two
types of chips (e.g., stability)? How about price differences? Am I
missing other good options?

All advice is very welcome!

Mike
