Give yourself more credit that. That's my team lead bit coming out. I
don't like it when good (and intelligent) people put themselves down.
That's been another hard thing for me to learn as well because I used to
be the king (and probably still have the habit) of doing that to myself.
Darn right. 4.0.9 is a good thing as is InnoDB.

How long does it take to recompile a kernel to fit your needs and how
often do you have to do it? I'd do it just once. :)

People without money buy Oracle? If I had no money I'd use MySQL. :)
