Actually OS/2 was very stable, that was not one of it's problems.  But
sysadmins where I work found it was brittle in one important way.
Uncontrolled shutdowns - say from a power failure - often wreaked havoc with
the file system.

Otherwise, it was a pretty industrial-strength OS - in it's day.  It was the
best way to multi-task DOS apps for example.
