I think there's a real functional difference between the list archives 
and a real bulletin board.  A bulletin board promotes a more casual 
browsing of the information where the mailing list is actually directed. 
The archive is just that, an archive of what we're talking about on the 
list. Personally, I'm not sure which would be more interactive. We could 
be more anonymous  with a bulletin board, which might keep the spam 
harvesters away. I've gotten so much benefit from being part of this 
list, I'll hang out wherever you guys go =)
