This is something that I've been meaning to bring up for a while. Someone
blatantly put it into words for me and it really made sense: the mailing
lists thrive because we are a community which primarily interacts with one
another through our computers. Our use of computers is what drives MLUG.
Therefore, is it really so wrong to not meet often?

What I think we should do is have a meeting once every two months or so
just to focus on direction and goals. Presentations are nice, but let's
face it: everyone has too much going on to prepare one. Those who don't
are either lazy, unmotivated, or so-so with their expertise. There's
probably other reasons but that's not the point of this e-mail.

Maybe a new approach to MLUG, one which is oriented around the web site,
mailing list, and maybe a possible bulletin board, would be better. The
bulletin board would be better than IRC for ease of use (web browser vs.
IRC commands) and so that casual conversation won't depend on everyone
being online at the same time.

That's just a few thoughts. Add what you will. Flame me and feel my Wushu.
My Chi is strong.

Cheers,
Neil Bradshaw
