Perhaps in your work environment this is true, but in mine, this is the
*only* way that we can reliably disseminate important information. We get
our butts kicked now by the mgr if we only send email because 90% of the
time, the people that need to read AND UNDERSTAND what our emails are telling
them will not do so. Then we get shut down when we try to implement
something because THEY didn't realize that it affects their work.
As our company has grown over the years we have seen how communication really
is the name of the game. Everyone affects nearly everyone now and the only
real reliable way to get everything "out on the table" is to, um, physically
meet around a table. It still rubs us techies the wrong way but we're
dealing with it...
