But when i go to OS X and click on connect server, and give in ip address of the linux box, i couldnt connect. I also would like to mount mac volumes in linux. Its rh 7.2. I am running MacOSX . Any suggestions, Also any suggestions to mount mac volumes. How about nfs, doesnt it work out. I tried but everything is annoying me. I have the ip's of the two. > I tried with "netatalk-config" but couldnt get it. > Any suggestions, > Thanks, > Suman K First, read http://www.anders.com/projects/netatalk/afpd.conf.html Then, see that netatalk's afpd.conf file has a line like this: - -noguest -uamlist uams_dhx.so,uams_dhx_pam.so,uams_randnum.so Every Mac user that wants to connect to the Linux box will have to have a plaintext .passwd file in their home dir. That file's permissions should be 600 and it should have the only thing in it -- the user's password. They must be valid users of the Linux system as well. Under OS X, go to Finder's menu and find /Connect to server.../ option. If your netatalk service is running, it should show up in the list. You will have to check that your system has UAMs appropriate for the type of login you want to do from the Mac. They should be under /usr/lib/atalk/uams/. You can do plain text login or guest login by specifying the right UAM modules.
