Have you read "Linux Firewalls" second edition by Robert Ziegler? If not you
really should - I found it to be quite helpful when I first starting mucking
with it.
If you want a SANS course on the cheap you can be a conference volunteer -
$500 and room/board is all - you save a couple thousand. It's a pretty good
deal that I used while in school to get some certs and save money.
If you want more info about anything don't hesitate to contact me on or off
list.

Subject: [MLUG] An Iptables Tutor?
Thought I'd ask the list again, since it worked out pretty good the last
time I asked around for a tutor. I'm looking for someone who knows security
in linux fairly well. My first goal has been to nail iptables. I've had so
many problems trying to get iptables to work correctly I'd really like to
find someone to help me out with it. Once I've mastered iptables I'd like to
continue learning as much about security issues as possible.
I've done a _lot_ of reading and studying and working with my server I just
need additional help from someone who really knows what is going on. :-)
I have looked at the higher level sans courses but I just can't afford them
at this point.
If anyone knows of anyone who would be interested send them my way. We coud
work out some sort of a fee, or whatever...
Thanks!
Bob
