I just joined somewhat recently but reading back I found that there used to
be meetings on a regular basis. I would really enjoy having meetings
bimontly if possible, at least montly. I would show up unless I had a big
problem with comming. Also it would be nice if the site was updated more
often, that could be discussed at meetings.

Subject: [MLUG] An MLUG meeting for this year? a newbie get together this
Sunday?
Date: Tue, 3 Sep 2002 16:52:48 -0500
Hey everyone. Are we planning on getting together at all this year? I think
I made it to one of the two meetings last year and there was a pretty good
turnout. Is there someone in charge of MLUG, sorry, There seem to be some
names that stand out in my head but in looking at the MLUG website I can't
tell if it has any organization left. :-) Should we just set a date and
meet? Maybe we could just have a general q & a session that everyone can
participate in? I could talk on something but it would mostly be on a newbie
level (even after a year!).
Does MLUG have any place to meet yet? Do we just want to set a date and do
it before everyone gets too busy with the new semester?
Is there a link on the iats website that mentions mlug anywhere? It seems we
could get a lot of new people involved. How do they find out about MLUG now?
I'm thinking about opening up my apartment the afternoon of Sept. 8th to
talk about Linux stuff, maybe go over a simple install, talk about basic new
user stuff, and eat pizza. Any takers?
thanks,
Bob
