Just an idea for whomever. These tape systems are NICE. They're really reliable (this is the group that supposedly can dunk a tape in coffee and still read off of the tape later), work with linux, apple, winblows, etc., and usually decently priced. Plus, if you really want to get crazy, you can get a rack mount system with the motors, or other combinations. But, at 160GB (probably more like 120 or 130GB b/c of compression issues) that's a pretty nice deal. You need only 4 or perhaps 5 tapes for your whole system, and if you get the motorized version, voila, you're set!

Dear Jason McIntosh,
During the month of August, receive a free 66GB V17 VXAtape (a $65 value!) from Exabyte when you purchase and VXA-1 tape drive or automation product from CDW.
VXA is the tape technology chosen by leading OEMs and end users looking for reliable - and affordable - backup and archive products for workstations and servers. IBM is the latest OEM to select VXA as their choice to replace the aged DDS products. Other OEMs offering VXA include Compaq (Hewlett-Packard), Apple, Fujitsu, and Toshiba.
Exabyte began shipments of the all-new 160GB, 12MB/s VXA-2 tape drive in June with full backward compatibility to VXA-1, delivering an affordable migration path for your growing storage requirements. The VXA roadmap includes two more generations (up to VXA-4), further protecting your investment for many years to come.
For a listing of VXA drives, automation and accessory products, visit http://www.cdw.com/shop/search/results.asp?key=exabyte+VXA or visit http://www.exabyte.com/promotions for additional details on the offer and how to register.
Thanks for being a continued supporter of VXA technology!
Exabyte Corporation
