Our local guru just made the following suggestion...
For POP the best solution looks like it will be in moving toward using
Transport Layer Security for the connection. This encrypts the
connection, including the logon process. Most POP clients are getting
support for TLS and we are looking into adding it to our mail servers.
Anyone know anything about TLS? Any experience? It sounds like it will
be great if the users willingly migrate to POP clients that support TLS.
