What was the minimum processor requirement on Win3.11?
Just a little fun tidbit, I've run Win3.11 on an 8088 with 2mb RAM and a
greyscale monitor. It took 2 hours to boot up, and almost a half hour to
select an icon after I clicked on it.
If your wondering, yes, I was VERY bored that day. I was at UMR as part of
the Southwinds magazine staff. To keep our office, we had to have the
office open with someone in there for at least 8 hours of the day. I
happened to get 5 hours that day due to my class schedule on
tuesday/thursday. The office came with an 8088 with Dos and network client
software on it, making it the perfect place to check email via telnet/elm.
Given that I wasn't aware of IRC at the time, and ytalk didn't have anybody
on it during those 5 hours, it was either do homework or see what I could do
to/with the box. I connected to a lab I had a class (and thus an account)
in, which used Win3.11. I simply typed win311 at the prompt and waited..
and waited.. (and actually did homework!) and waited..
