Yes, I think so. Thank you. /etc/logrotate.conf referenced
/etc/logrotate.d/syslog , where line 22 ends a duplicated killall -HUP
to syslogd. The error goes away when I comment out the section--seems to
relate to the precedence stuff in man logrotate, which is making more
sense to me now.
