www.thinknic.com sells pretty neat Linux Internet Appliances with an
onboard modem and 10/100 ethernet. They used to be $199 but they've
raised the price to $249 (Though it seems like they've upped the CPU
from a PR266 to a PR300.) I have one and it's not too bad for VERY VERY
basic websurfing. Once you have more than a couple windows open, it
gets pretty pokey and can be frustrating. It shouldn't be that slow,
but the motherboard has no L2 cache. Many people get K6-III or K6-2+
CPUs that have their own L2 cache. If the newer versions of the NIC
have cache, it'd be worth getting.
