I have a pretty new and mostly default Mandrake 8.2 install Msec, cron,
syslog, etc. mail me pretty informative reports that I mostly
understand, but this one escapes me, and it seems like I shouldn't get
it:
"Cron Daemon" mails this with the subject line "nice -n 19 run-parts
/etc/cron.daily". The message always says:
error: syslog:22 duplicate log entry for /var/log/syslog
run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate exited with return code 1
I do not get the message every day, only every 3 days or so. Is
logrotate failing to delete a rotated log or something? All the scripts
for this stuff are currently Mdk defaults; I haven't changed anything
since the new install. Where should I be looking for the "duplicate"?
Thanks,
Dave
