Welcome to the group Mark, didn't see you join.

Personally I use a 166mhz P1 for a router/firewall/dhcp/etc. It has 16mb
ram (I took out 16 for my parents box, thats why you remember me asking
about a 32mb box), 2 gb hdd, and e-smith's rendition of redhat.

Speaking of which, does anybody know a good downloadable prog to manage UPS
prompted shutdown? I bought a UPS on clearance for $40, and I thought I'd
try to get that working. Actually, any info/advice on UPS and linux routers
would be gladly accepted.

For those interested, its a CyberPower 500SL. I think it was released in
1999, as it advertises "year 2000 compatable" and its software works in
Win95, NT and 98. It has 6 plugs, 3 with surge protection, 3 with surge and
battery. I'll be putting my monitors on two of the surge, my Zip Drive on
the other surge, the CPU's on the battery, and my alarm clock on battery.
;-)
