- Thread-Topic: [MLUG] different file systems
I have to put my vote in for XFS. I've been running it for months now,
and it's been rock stable, no problems whatsoever. And the handy ISO
image provided by SGI makes it nice and easy to install. Then, there's
ACL support, xfsdump, xfsrestore, etc.
Add a vote for XFS!

I think thats the main thing for folks like us; ReiserFS is part of the
standard kernel so it easier to use. I've heard ReiserFS declared not
ready for general use, since there have been several corruption fixes in
2.4.x. Those same people said XFS was (it was that new bsd-like linux
distro announced on slashdot yesterday).
ReiserFS is better at smaller files (less then 4kb).
I've been using ReiserFS for a few months, installed it with Mandrake
and
then wiped out Mandrake and installed Debian.
