Has
anyone tried installing Linux on a replacement notebook hard drive and simply
swapping it in and out with the stock hard drive?
The HD
that came with my Inspiron 4000 is only 9 gb, and I am considering purchasing a
20 gb replacement drive, installing Redhat on it, and swapping it with the WinME
drive. This would have the advantage of not dealing with dual boot, yet
the smaller drive would be available for those applications that need to run
under Windows.
The HD
swapprocess seems pretty straighforward, but if anyone has any experience with
this they would like to pass on, I would certainly appreciate hearing
it.
