If it's Socket 7, it's a Pentium. If it's Socket 8, it's a Pentium Pro.
All early Pentiums preferred EDO RAM but could also accept FastPage. It
would tell you which type you had and which sockets the RAM was
installed in at the System Configuration screen, the next one after POST
and before OS boot. Up to 233 MHz, I believe, all Pentiums used PC-66
RAM but of course you could use PC-100 also. They could usually accept
both ECC and non-ECC memory, and ECC checking could be disabled in BIOS.
If your board is not generic, it may be different from above, and
without a manual you'll have to do some trial and error :)
