To see if the RAM itself is bad (or if the motherboard won't play nice with 
it at all, try out MemTest86, available at http://www.teresaudio.com/memtest86/

It's been a great weapon when dealing with reluctant RMA departments: 
"Look, on two different motherboards, this DIMM gives an error at exactly 
the same memory location!"
