Even at that, you could set a simple monitor to notify the lab monitors
station when a potentially bad site is being accessed, the monitor can then
casually "evesdrop" on the exchange and make sure it doesn't violate policy.
If it does, you kick the student out of the lab for the rest of the day. I
don't like the fact that porn is so prevalent in school labs, but if I don't
have to see it when I use the lab, and if they leave with all the other
people in the lab for non-academic uses when the lab fills up, then I see no
real justification for removing it from any lab, except grade school/middle
school. Maybe it should be encouraged in High School, to improve the
quality of Mogmios's "Extra Value Meal" dates ;-)
