Can you hook them up via regular analog mode? I don't think digital out on
emu10k is supported. If the digital mode really makes a lot of difference,
you probably have poor-quality cables.

WinTV should be easy. Just insert the bttv module and a few other required
ones, start xawtv, and it should work.
