FYI:
Now that I had some time to research discussion groups, I found that
it's a known problem with RH 7.2. There's a discussion is at
linux.redhat.digest, titled "warning about RAID and Red Hat 7.2",
actually something that I've suspected. I've simply copied the needed
library to /usr under /, and it worked like a charm.
