Sun can read long filenames, just not the ones on the CD I burned in Win.
The burner used something called "Joliet" - you can read about that on the
web somewhere, I'm sure, but I can't tell you more because that's all I
know.  Apparently, Solaris can't handle the Joliet method of encoding long
filenames, so when it is confronted with them it reports shorter
(8.3-style) filenames.
