That's fine, but that & is redundant because the first thing the program
does it to place itself into the background.
Incidently, after starting the program, maybe you should type "top" just
to see that it is working. If it is consuming a sizable portion of CPU
time, then it is working. If it is in "poll" mode or something like
that, then it has been unable to establish communication with the server
computer.
