For all those who wish to connect to bengal, here's some info that'll
help out. Found out you absolutely have to set the domain that you use
when you log in. It's pretty simple, in that it's just another short
option. To mount a samba drive, just use this command:
mount -t smbfs //bengal.missouri.edu/$SMBUSERNAME /mnt/showme -o
username=$SMBUSERNAME,workgroup=TIGERS,password=$SMBPASSWORD
where of course, SMBUSERNAME= your sso ID, such as jwm05c
and SMBPASSWORD is your sso password. No - I'm not going to say what
mine is. :)
You can also add a line to your "/etc/fstab" file, like this:
//bengal.missouri.edu/jwm05c /mnt/showme smbfs
username=jwm05c,workgroup=TIGERS,password=**** 0 0
Just watch out on the file permissions. By default (not sure if you can
even change this normally) /etc/fstab is world readable.
Cheers!
