You know... if I had a 512p SGI O3800... all I'd really do is just run mutt
or netscape on it.  Now if I had a big fat pipe, you know a dedicated OC48
or some such, and that was 512p was really 512TB of disk... now that's got
possibilities :-)

That's from the 512p SGI Origin 3800 we owered up NASA Goddard Space Flight
Center last week.  Amazigly, we were able to cable and bolt together 20 odd
racks of CPUs and I/O in about two full days.  Once we cabled the 2x256p
machines that shipped, it worked flawlessly as a 512p.  The stress tests
that
we put on it ran at a load average of 1180 or so for 15 hours (that's a 
little over 2 processes in the process queue per CPU).  

No wonder I love my job. :)
