I have ICQ messages going back to the inception of ICQ and email and MUD
logs going back since before then. One of my requirements any sort of
chat/mail client is the ability to save old messages. It's one reason I
don't use much of webmail anymore. After much asking they all still seem
to refuse to allow a way to download mail in bulk easily. I guess they
fear users using special clients but as long as they force quotas there is
no other way to retain message histories on their services. :P
