I heard that it was a real headache to get Shadow open sourced because of
the University's "all your software are belong to us" policy. You'd have
to talk to the guy who developed it or some people over in CTIE to get all
the details, as I won't elaborate on something I know little about. I
think it took 6 months to get it GPL'd, though. That's about all I know.
