Okay, adding to my weird post, when I scanned my machine running Windows,
I get the EXACT SAME RESULTS!!! Both machines right now are plugged
straight into a hub, which in turn is plugged into the DSL modem, which
goes out onto the void.

Could this be my DSL modem, or what? I don't know what to make of
this. Scans done internally from one machine to the next behind the DSL
modem and hub show that only select ports are open. But if I scan from
MLUG or another server beyond the DSL modem, I get filtered ports.

Does anyone know what's going on? I swear, I am not going insane.

Another thing: does the DSL modem have its own IP? It is routing
information, so to speak. Anyone know how to find this information out? I
am clueless right now about this port thing...

Regards,
Neil
