Hi all,
Just wondering if any of you have successfully
hooked up and configured a USB Scanner with kernel
2.4.4
I'm using an Epson 1240U and according to the
Scanner USB documentation it is fully supported.
Software using:
sane 1.0.4 patched with latest epson drivers
xsane 0.70
kernel 2.4.4 with usb and scanner compiled directly into kernel
Everything "almost" works. The scanner is recognized by
the usb/scanner drivers, xsane finds it when loading but
when doing the actual scan it hangs when retrieving the
information from scanner. I'll get part of the image but
then nothing else. It seems to me that maybe the
sane backend is loosing track of the protocol with this
scanner, or something like that.
After about 20 seconds I start getting errors reported back
to xsane and I have to kill the xsane process. I think the
scanner is put into an unknown state at this point, I have to
unplug the scanner from usb and replug it in before xsane
will recognize a scanner again.
