It's not your fault, man. The Chinese are just really, really pissed off
at us. Propaganda does that. I actually feel bad for the Chinese. I read a
story the other day that talked about how Chinese prisioners are being
executed for small crimes so that their organs can be harvested and sent
to the U.S. for big bucks, after which a cut of the money goes to everyone
from the judge to the prision guards. Really sick stuff. I am a big fan of
asian culture as a whole, and hearing about all this and how we're
supposed to hate them now makes me sick.
Conspiracy theory of the day: what if the U.S. was using Chinese IPs to do
this in an attempt to turn the American public against China. Hey, we did
fly into their space in the first place with that whole recon thing. I
don't actually believe this theory, but it's interesting to me
anyway. Nothing more than a curious interest.
Personally, I don't want to go to war with them. Even if we vaporize a
significant portion of their population, all the Chinese government has to
do is promise its people food and they have an army. Americans are
spoiled. I'd rather be spoiled than harvested, though...
You could always run Red Hat for Sparc ;) It might be more secure than
Sun. I know there are other Linux distros that run on Sparc. Hell, I
believe OpenBSD runs on Sparc, and it's way more secure than any unix
flavor I know of. Let's hear it for encrypted swap space and line-by-line
code auditing!
Regards,
Neil
