Could it be a router problem on the way to Stanford? Just yesterday I
was connected to my home machine by SSH from work, and it was working
fine. However, I couldn't connect to http or imap services even though
they were up. The canonical name of my home machine would resolve but
not the aliases. traceroute would not go past one particular router,
whether I was tracing from home to my work or from work to home. SSH
didn't have any such problems. That was really odd. Then the connection
died... :(
