I actually made it work but I'm not sure how. It behaves as if it is
rewriting the X config files from somewhere else. By using the Mandrake
Control Center and pushing it to expert mode it let me set things the way
I wanted and they stayed.
Thus far I'm not impressed w/ Mandrake 8. Is what I get for breaking my
rule of avoiding dists until the X.1 version. :)
