I didn't, but I was *very* amused that they got such strong buy-in for the
hoax from O'Reilly (very amusing catalog page) and Activestate (page
looked the same until you noticed their latest news item, *very cleverly*
dated for March 27, which was more hoaxishness). I myself find it quite
tragic when April 1st falls on a weekend, since the clever prank
possibilities are greatly diminished.
A classic example of this (in the geek genre) was the year at CMU when
somebody managed to replace everybody's log-in shell with..."advsh", aka
"the adventure shell". You really had to be there. My favorite part was
having to read a scroll of teleportation to cd to another directory. :-)
