I agree with your comments but not with the conclusion. It seems that
Samba is already set up, so it would be perfect for a quick and dirty
solution. After all, it's just playing MP3s. For more serios file
sharing, I'd go with NFS, too, but it would take some time to learn and
set up. Your choice.
