No..  Under 7.2 the whole dang thing is slow.
7.1 seems to be the only thing that runs fine, and 
is fast.

Are you sure you aren't running the KDE1 version under KDE2 or vice
versa? Kpackage doesn't seem to work very well in either case. Also it
might have upgraded your version of XFree86 to something less optimal for
your video card. Is it kpackage the only app that doesn't work right?
