I'm willing to bet that the drive params you're getting, unless they come
from the manufacturer's web site, are lies, innuendo, and/or
windows-related. I recently had a similar kind of situation (though just
enough different to raise doubt) with an IBM drive. If you get the real
drive params and it still doesn't work, I guess your only choice is to
give the drive to me, no questions asked. Sorry about that...
