Yes, they work great, but if you are playing online games, they can cause
linkdeath in Everquest.  Just an fyi.

While we're on the topic. LinkSys Cable/Routers kick ass big time. Plus
they're switched! They NAT and DHCP and SNMP and route and will NAT *AND*
pass IPSEC through. Beat that with any commercial firewall :) Oh, and it's
firewalled and has the ability to do a DMZ host and port forwarding and
acl's. An 8-port is about $210 or so and I recommend them to everyone. I was
very skeptical of devices like this (Bah! I can do it better myself!) but no
more. It works very well and saves me a ton of time. Anyway, cya!

I have a linksys 5-port hub.  Got it at office depot.  Not exactly cheap,
but 
worked over a year for me.
