I have a couple of Hawking 5-port 10/100 switch hubs that I've had no trouble
with. I paid ~$75 a year ago. These are able to mix both 10 and 100 mbps
devices, and utilize the speed of the 100's if between two 100 mbps devices, yet
will bridge between 100 and 10 mbps devices, too. I have had a d-link hub that
you manually switched between 10 and 100, and I had to send it in for repair on
2 occasions (and it's in a box somewhere in my home, because it's not functional
again. It had a lifetime warranty, but it's a pain to have your network keep
going down.) I won't buy a d-link brand again.
