That's a good suggestion, and I have thought about doing it.  I could just
"echo >>" a line into the log file, maybe.  I haven't gotten around to it.  
I was concerned that altering the log file might cause tcp_wrappers to
stop logging.  I'd have to check that it doesn't have adverse effects.  
Have you actually had 'spawn' add a line to the log file and checked that
it works OK?
