I just spent an evening trying to figure out how to set up a news client, and I
don't seem to be getting anywhere.
Seems it's a little too complicated for starters.
To begin with, I tried knews and xrn. Neither of those explains in the documentation
or provides an interface to properly authorize oneself to the news server, and
that's what my server seems to require.
I'd appreciate a pointer to a howto file or a quick rundown of what I need to get
started in the news business.
OS: NetBSD 1.4
news server: news.earthlink.net
clients tried: knews, xrn
Btw, the version of netscape I have does not seem to be supporting news (I can't add
a news server to the list).
