[UUG/MLUG] Network card configuration

Hello.  I'm having some trouble configuring my SN2000 (NE2000 compatible)
NIC.  I believe I have successfully installed the needed module (ne) with
the proper io and irq settings (it will not autodetect).  However, I have
not been able to "determine IP address" whenever I try to set the card up
for dhcp (through linuxconf or netconfig).  As far as I know, the res hall
network (TigerNet) uses dhcp.  I was able to get this card working before
over TigerNet (with an older version of Redhat, possibly 5.2).  I'm
currently trying to use Redhat 6.1.  Can anyone think of anything I missed
or recommend a good, supported, and fairly inexpensive network card?
