Has anyone out there tried to do an install of Oracle 8.0.5 on RH? I've got
RH 6.1 and am trying to install 8.0.5 on it, and it says to set a bunch of
kernel parameters, which I can't seem to find.
i.e., I did find kernel.shmmax and tried sysctl it to the "recommend value"
of 4294967295 and it's now set to -1, and I can't find any of the other shm
settings, such as shmmin, shmmni, shmseg, semmns, semmni, and semmsl. When
I tried ignoring this setting, the tns listener stuff wouldn't start at all,
just seg'd faulted. Not that fixing these will help, but advice is welcome.
Anyone got any suggestions or advice?
