I'm not clear on what the problem was. Was the original post asking how
to do case-insensitive search and replace for every line in the file? So
the problem had to do with case sensitivity? The thing is, XEmacs has a
button you can click for search and replace, so I'm sure the person who
started this thread knew how to do search and replace.
Apparently, the search and replace button feature of XEmacs is case
insensitive by default. So 'teh' would be replaced by 'the', 'Teh' by
'The', and 'TEH' by 'THE'.
It doesn't seem like a lot of trouble to learn how to do this. To have
the replace operation repeated throughout the file, just hit '!' after the
first query or hit F1 for help.
No need for a "vi mode", right?
