Of course it's dangerous <grin> that's why we do it.
But seriously, NT likes to see it's boot sector a certain way, and lilo can
change that. That's why you have to be careful in you lilo config.
Mine is setup with a standard boot record which does nothing more than boot
the first active partition. Linux is of course that partition. Lilo is
installed to the Linux partition with an entry for the 98 partition. That
holds the boot record for 98 and win2k (this works for NT also, or maybe its
the other way around :). If I need to, I can select one of the non-Linux OS's
from lilo. I can post my lilo.conf tonight if anyone wants to see it.
It's just a matter of playing tricks on stupid OS's :)
