I just couldn't pass up sending this along; no "bad will" here, is
there? :)

First query is general; note that you now have to specify the
"whois" server, due to the "new playing field" . . .

Second, I sent it to NS, just to check.  What a surprise :)

Third lookup is to the "proper" server, although NS was much more
humorous.
